So… We’ve arrived!

For some crazy reason, the fabulous folks at Philadelphia Magazine allowed our Creative Director Evon Burton the chance to share his take on this past weekend’s Justin Timberlakemelodrama. I think we’re all fully aware of what happened by now, right? If not, Justin Timberlake exchanged a few words with local journalist Ernest Owens after the superstar tweeted his reaction to Jesse Williams’ BET Awards acceptance speech. Let’s just say, Black Twitter wasn’t pleased.

While Evon thought JT wasn’t in the right, he thought that some of #BlackTwitter reactions weren’t warranted either. I mean… Is Justin really a “Cultural Appropriator?” Not really convinced. In fact, there’s a larger, more pressing issue at hand.
