Welcome to the Anderson Street Project, the newest home for
Philadelphia’s R&B music fans.
I’m Evon Burton, the founder and creative director
of the Anderson Street Project. The Anderson Street Project is for Gen X-ers
and millennials, who like me, grew up on and love R&B music. This is for
the people who remember the golden years of the 90s and 00s where Brandy,
Monica, and Aaliyah reigned supreme and the ones that aren’t too holy to
Bankhead Bounce to MJB’s “I Can Love You” in a public setting. This is for YOU!
My goal for Anderson Street is to create a community of
folks who are informed to enough to not believe that random “R&B is Dead” thinkpiece on that hipster
blog or aren’t totally reliant on the radio to find new music.
The Anderson Street Project is a social-media driven
communication channel for all things R&B as it relates to greatest city in
the universe, Philadelphia. Think of this as a gentle tap on your shoulder that
reminds you of upcoming local concerts, dope events, and new music. And for the
ones who know me, you know I always have a trick up my sleeve so you know
there will be some crazy, exclusive stuff for Anderson Street “Neighbors” too.
So how can you help?
Thanks for your support and I’m looking forward to seeing
you at an upcoming show!
With love, peace, and soul,
Ev
