One of our favorite Neighbors and Concert Buddies (You should have seen us getting fresh when SWV sang “Downtown” a few months back.) Brandon Simmons shared with us his favorite songs and albums of 2015. Check them out below.

Hey Neighbors!

2015! What A Time to Be In Love with R&B Music!!

This year the music was real! And as R&B lovers we enjoyed every bit of it! I know for me personally I’ve died and gone to heaven at least 10 times just on the musical gifts the Gods & Goddesses of R&B released upon us.

Top 5 Albums

Jill Scott - Woman

“This album may not be Jilly’s best (see Words and Sounds Vol. 1, Vol. 3 and The Light of the Sun) but she definitely gave us something we could feel!”

Jazmine Sullivan - Reality Show

“If any of the neighbors were at the TLA show you know why this made my Top 5. **sobs uncontrollably**”

Drake - IF YOU’RE READING THIS ITS TOO LATE

“SOPHISTI-RATCHET? TRAP&B? We need this every once in a while!”

Adele - 25

“Two words: HELLO, EMOTIONS! and I’m done…”

The 4 albums I just mentioned are not in any particular order. However this next one is my Number 1 Album released in 2015.

Tamia - Love Life

image

“This album is teaching Life Lessons in the key of Tamia’s sultry vocals. I’m sure even our married Neighbors were taking note on how to spice up their marriage (see: “Chaise Lounge” and “Sandwich and a Soda”). Tamia wants us all to know what to do to please our lover!”

Top 5 Singles

Alessia Cara“Here”

“This hit took a while to catch on but you gotta love it! She is kinda singing about what I’m thinking about at a party when I’m just sitting there giving Resting Bitch Face.”

Tyrese - “Shame”

“You know your song is hot when Patti Labelle not only covers it but invites you over to eat some of her Labelle Cuisine.”

Adele - “Hello”

“Even if you hate this song (which I highly doubt) the British Mary J. Blige set the charts on fire and got our exes to make our “Hotline Bling” with this song!”

Kendrick Lamar - “Alright”

“Pharrell produced, Kendrick delivered and we got our life! #NuffSaid”

Drake -“Hotline Bling”

“I don’t know about the other Neighbors but I know when my ex left the city, I started wearing less and going out more!”
